Veazie Ski Area ~ Veazie, ME
Facts:
|
Sometime in the 1960's-1970's a ski slope with a rope tow operated in the town of Veazie. A member from the Penobscot Valley Ski Club states that the area was for private use. Other sources, however state that is was a municipal slope open to the public. Hours of operations were Fridays 6-9 p.m, Saturdays and Sundays 12 - 4 p.m. In an article, Richard Ferland who managed the slope states that ski lessons were available. It was popular enough that season passes could be bought. There was no mention of what the ticket price was.
The ski slope is visible from Route 2 in Veazie. The area of the old slope is listed private property, so it is unknown if there are any remnants. |
