Ski Horse, Newburgh, ME
Last Updated 7/13/2013
Ski-Horse Mountain was a ski area that operated out of Newburgh, ME during the 50's and right on through the 90's. The area had a T- Bar, Rope tow, skiable slopes and trails, a pond, and a ski lodge. It was mostly for family but, public could buy club memberships and get benfits to the area also. It had probably around a 200 ft - 300 ft vertical drop. Most of the area has been kept clear and the pond is still visible. It looks to seem as the mountain might be private property due to a house near but, I don't know exactly to who owns the land now. I visited this area early this month to see that the area had been very well maintained and that most of the area has been kept clear. You could see lots of evidence of the former ski area also such as footings, foundations, and trails.
